The Mission
Since Xerox created the first Employee Resource Group during the Civil Rights Movement, employee networks have mobilised for change. They epitomise grassroots action for the betterment of not just employees but, communities, suppliers, partners and the businesses in which they operate.
They are the first line of defence when it comes to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging and their leaders, who are often volunteering on top of busy day jobs, bravely take up the mantle in the pursuit of fairer workplaces for all.
Leading employee networks is incredibly rewarding but it can also feel overwhelming and emotionally draining. At times it can feel lonely.
ERG Leader exists not only to connect and equip network Chairs, we aim to transform the world of work, one ERG leader at a time.
The Collective
sheryl Miller - CEO & principal consultant
Sheryl brings something most ERG consultants don't: twenty years of senior transformation and change management experience, working directly with CEOs and CFOs in some of the world's largest organisations.
Her corporate career spans strategic planning, large-scale organisational change, and transformation programmes across billion-dollar businesses. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant at EY, holds an MBA, and led her first major transformation programme as Transformation Director in 2014. That background shapes everything ERG Leader does.
Sheryl's belief is that most inclusion strategies fail not because of poor intentions, but because ERG leaders are never given the change management skills they actually need. Too much theory, not enough application. ERG Leader exists to fix that.
She has been working with ERGs since 2019, when she wrote her first book exploring the individual mindset required to progress in organisations as a minority, and the environments businesses need to create for underrepresented people to thrive. She founded the ERG Leader Summit in 2024, pioneering the first ERG summit in the Middle East in 2025, and has worked with organisations including Serco, JLR, Eon, Teleflex, Wickes.
Organisations often come to Sheryl when generic training has not worked, or when they are not sure where to start. Diagnosis and intervention design are at the heart of what she does.
